Air & Fuel Filter

Air Filter

The air filter traps dirt particles that can cause damage to engine cylinders and pistons, extending those components life in the process. The air filter also serves as a silencer for your vehicle’s intake system. Your vehicle’s engine can use more than 10,000 gallons of air for every gallon of fuel burned, so it’s easy to see how big a job the air filter has.

Your vehicle’s air filter should be changed in regular intervals as specified in your manufacturer’s owners’ manual. A good rule of thumb is to have the air filter visually inspected with every oil change. A vehicle that is regularly driven in unusually dusty or dirty conditions such as an unpaved road or a construction site will require more frequent filter replacements. Driving with a dirty air filter restricts the air entering the engine, and if severe, can impact fuel economy and performance.
